If you are performing Daily Recitation on behalf of your family, friends, or fellow Dharma cultivators, their full names (first name, middle name, and last name) must be announced before you begin reciting in order for the merits to take full effect. Please limit to a maximum of 3 wishes, as making too many wishes would be an act of greed, and therefore not all of the wishes would come true. It is best to say the corresponding prayers for blessings before you begin your Daily Recitation. For example, before reciting the content of the Great Compassion Mantra, you should recite its full title: Chien Shou Chien Yan Wu Ai Ta Pei Hsin To Lo Ni whereas in reciting the Heart Sutra, you should first recite its full title: Po Jo Po Lo Mi To Hsin Ching. The full title of each sutra and mantra should be read out each time before it is recited. The number of sutras and mantras recited for Daily Recitation and the Little House should also be counted separately. You need to make separate prayers for Daily Recitation and the Little House. Please take note that the Sutras and mantras recited for Daily Recitation cannot be included in the Little Houses. On the other hand, reciting Little Houses (Hsiao Fang Tzi), is like paying installments on house loan or other loan repayments.

Performing Daily Recitation is as important as daily food intakes, and it is like earning an income for daily living expenses. For example, you can recite the Great Compassion Mantra 3 times, Heart Sutra 3 times, Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance once, and Cundi Dharani 21 times. Daily Recitation refers to the fixed number of sutras and mantras to be recited every day.Recitations not only can help us purify our negative karma, but also allows us to tap into our inner wisdom and nurture our good roots. Only by performing the recitations with a sincere heart can we form a connection with the Buddha and Bodhisattvas and obtain compassionate blessings and protection. For example, Chieh Chieh Chou (Mantra to Untie Karmic Knots) and Ta Chi Hsian Tien Nu Chou (Sri Devi Dharani) help us improve our relationships with people and resolve interpersonal conflicts, whereas reciting the Chun Ti Shen Chou (Cundi Dharani) helps us in areas of career advancement and academic achievements.Īs long as we persist in our practice of reciting the abovementioned mantras in the Buddhist Recitation Collection, we can eliminate our negative karmic obstacles, obtain prosperity and good fortune, and change our destiny. Recitations of the ten short mantras help to resolve the many problems that we face in our daily lives. Recitation of the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance helps us repent our wrong doings and eliminate our negative karmic obstacles. While recitation of the Great Compassion Mantra help strengthen our energy and maintain physical health, recitation of the Heart Sutra allows us to develop our wisdom and resolve frustrations and worries. Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door’s three fundamental pillars of scriptures are the Great Compassion Mantra, Heart Sutra, and the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance.
